This poster is of a monumental oil painting on 32 canvasses by David Hockney and is available from the Royal Academy. It is The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire, 2011 and forms one part of his 52-part work.
Presently, some of Hockney’s iPad woodlands are included in an exhibition called Arboretum at the Crane Kalman Gallery in Knightsbridge, London.
(thanks to the Henry Moore Foundation)
That show also includes Henry Moore’s 1981 Tree in Winter, on paper with chalk, charcoal, watercolour, wax and crayon.
A managed collection of living trees is called an arboretum. One of Europe’s oldest is at Westonbirt in Gloucestershire, three miles from the Cotswolds market town of Tetbury.
